Rules for Commenting

Our rules for commenting are fairly simple. These are:

1. Valid email addresses – Comments are allowed only from members who are logged in. Email addresses of members are verified upon registration. Spamming? Tell us about that. We hate spam as much as you do. (More information? Please read our Privacy Policy. You may also visit SPAMWATCHERS for more information about spamming.)

2. Name – Part of the pre-requisite to registration is to update membership profile. Members are required to update their profile the first time they are successfully logged in.

3. A comment is deleted if:

(a) It is a personal attack against us (obviously) or against another commenter/s. emanilapoetry is a community-based website where we hope to generate friendship and cooperation among the members. Personal attacks therefore have no place in this website).

(b) It contains racist terms.

(c) It is worded so as to create an unpleasant controversy or negative reaction. Controversy may attract inbound site traffic, but we do not want negatively-driven traffic.

(d) It contains links to websites or webpages with no other intent than to advertise a website or a webpage including members’ webpages, brand, product or service. (For advertisements on this site, please contact us using the advertising link.)

(e) It is hateful, scurrilous, negative, offensive and obscene.

(f) It is not relevant to the topic of the post or to the post itself.

(g) It was submitted by the writer of the post and the comment entry is not in response to comments posted by other writers or contributors. Please note that a writer or contributor can post a comment entry to his/her post to explain and provide some insight into the post. But such comments should be limited to only one entry per post.

4. Since messages on the comments box are publicly displayed, if what you only want is to contact us, for example, technical support, please use the appropriate online Contact form. We are more than happy to entertain your queries and correspond with you.

That’s about it.

We hope you will continue to enjoy a pleasant and productive interaction with other members and writers.

Reporting and Moderating

1. On comments

As a matter of practice, we do not moderate posts including comments. We leave the moderating part to the the members themselves.

The only time we step into the role of a moderator is when there are differences between members including reports of comments being in breach of these rules.

If you think that a comment has been posted anywhere on this site, and does not conform with these rules, please contact us immediately.

Kindly provide us in your message the following details: Title of post where the comment appears, name of poster, and reason why you think the comment should be deleted. This information will help us in making a determination on what actions to take.

Note that when you report a comment as being in breach of our rules, consider your report as a recommendation only. The final decision rests with us.

2. On posts

All posts are governed by our Editorial Policy. If you think that a post anywhere in this site does not conform with our Editorial Policy, feel free to report it to us.
