Fifth of October

by Karlo Mikhail Mongaya

Into an afternoon
    Of arms locked in embrace
The clouds, the air
    That fed our laughter
The hushed silence
    Of intertwining caresses
The storm, the rain
    That led to the kiss

Thriving passion
    Whispered laughter
When impossible
    Seem eccentric

Blissful dream
    Surreal kisses
When forgetting
    Seem bizarre

Your face, your touch
    So infinite, so celestial
The written memories
    Of muted voices
The tongue, the breath
    That begot passion
The myriad eyes
    Of abridged memories

In the afternoon
    Of the fifth of October

  The kiss
     The touch
          The laughter

        The smile
    The storm
The embrace
