When all of Nature’s Lights Depart

by Karlo Mikhail Mongaya

When all
Of nature’s
Lights depart
I turn my
Gaze away
From the sky

Free flowing
Like a river
Like a stream
Onwards
It carries me
To a place

Where the night
Is made longer
By this
Drenched
Season
Of the year

As I shift
My attention
To the posts
The sun
Descends
Through hills

The man-made
Illuminations
Glow
Bringing color
To the night
