i remember you

by manonton dalan

early morn, i’m driving all alone
going somewhere not known
across, heavy yellow double line
they are going faster than mine
i marvel passing beneath tall trees,
cascading farms of wheat and berries

it never seem to end, an abundance
fruits of beautiful earth and soiled hands
butterfly with gentle flaps follows me
it might be my car’s color or curiosity
i slowed down to get a nice glimpse
but i saw numerous jumping nymphs

then i saw a heron on shallow lake
white as cotton ball, legs like stick
with sharp eyes and long reach
impossible to escape those beaks
i stop for a moment to stretch
i remember you, memories so rich

i was driving this morning and i cant resist
temptation to write what i’m sensing. it’s like
song i’m hearing. well read it again, this time
set your imagination free … a pinch of love
would be so beautiful… forget your angst you can’t
      live with that. thanks
