Peculiarity

by Aubrey Bahala

Things. They are quite unclear to me not until I spoke to you.
I found a reason to be like this:
to be spontaneous and ignorant and reserved.

It was like you’ve placed both your hands on my shoulders
and guided me to where I should be heading.
When I was strong enough to base my decisions on my instincts,
you walked beside me and held my hand tight.

I just want this feeling to go on for eternity.
And I just want to make things a lot easier,
so you and I wouldn’t grow tired knowing each other.

We are a big mess pleading somebody to wipe us clean.
We are like idiots forcing the wrong key to the keyhole.
We are two different people with different language trying to spit out our feelings for each other, yet we are not able to comprehend.

If this is about to introduce pain and a long time of waiting,
I’d rather turn my back on you so as to leave things as they should be.
I am scared to make decisions then regret them later.
I am scared of giving my heart to someone because
they might not hold it the way I would want them to.

When growing up becomes so frightening and self-destructing,
confusing, regretful, slow-paced and ugly,
disappointing, depressing and unrewarding

It is the most appropriate time to live and breathe in new life.

It is the most magical opportunity to grab somebody
and give them a warm, tight hug after a very miserable day.

It is the most inspiring time to tell a person how wonderful
they are despite their disgusting imperfections.

how could you hear me if you’re talking
things i’m saying is just noise passing
maybe we are singing the same opera
you are louder than i am ” ano ka ba?”

listen to the beat of my cute lips
not the clutter around my waist
or come close; give me a hug
as i give you your favorite mug
