A Long, Unrhymed Song Away From Home
Echoed beyond where I lodge my lamentations
I memorize the lyrics where I hide
And seek the console of sighs and sorrows
I dare not to heed the lullaby
For I never heard in the cradle
When my bare feet was still soft
But now I travelled a long, dusty road
To where I owned and kept
A long, unrhymed song away from home.
I touched my fingers that could count
The every drop that pours when it rains
Then let my tears evaporate until it’s gone
And when the arch after storm appears
I erase the colors and paint the nightmares
I shout and cry the humming
Of lightnings and thunderstorms
To where I owned and kept
A long, unrhymed song away from home.
I sail on the sea without turning back
Then drowned my heart in solitude
Like the sun swallowed by the ocean before twilight
Without seeing the dawn after
I am a bottle of wine, emptied
Floating in the deep and silent waters
I vomit and weep to drain my loneliness
To where I owned and kept
A long, unrhymed song away from home.
