REFLECTIONS
A Familiar Sound from a Forgotten Dream
Aubrey Bahala

“I feel like this has happened already.”

We often say that once in a while, especially when we do our daily routines, then out of the blue, in the back of our mind, we know this seems familiar to us. It’s like… we’ve done this, we’ve done that, we’ve heard this, we’ve heard that, we’ve seen this, we’ve seen that. And all we can conclude is that, we really can’t remember our dreams, no matter how hard we try.

Dreams can sometimes make us see what is about to happen, what is about to be felt by us, the dreamers, what is about to be heard, seen and so on. Dreams are our hidden desires, and the creative part of our mind controls these desires and it mixes it with our sleeping life, dreaming.

Dreams are uncontrollable, they are gifts and they are reflections of what we really want, of how we want things to happen. Not all dreams are pleasant, and not all dreams are supposed to be called ‘dreams’. Some dreams are nightmares, and I believe that having nightmares is a way of overcoming one’s fear of something, or of being used to being haunted by things people are scared of. You see, the creative part of our mind knows well how to regulate our sanity, it doesn’t mean that if you had a tremendous nightmare, you’re already insane. Our mind knows well enough the needs of our imagination, and the mind sustains itself for it is the one which decides, it controls the thoughts, it is the superior of all.

Some dreams are worth-remembering; especially those which we want to remember all the time. Dreams that are lovely makes us hope makes us cling on to that desire, and when this happens, it gives us a hint that we should hold on to that something we are dreaming of since it made us feel great and sweet, and we may not know that by holding on to that something, things might change.

Sometimes, dreams are weird or it seems so impossible to happen. I always have this dream wherein I was in somewhere and then when I took another step, I was in some other place, different from the previous one.

Is that possible? Maybe. It was said a long time ago that what the mind can imagine can actually happen, just let time work with it.

Sometimes, it’s more fulfilling to sleep so that we could have things and experience situations that for us are impossible to happen in the real world. We try to live with the world where dreaming is all we could do, and we sometimes wanted never to wake up, for somehow, all our desires are granted in those dreams we are having.

Dreaming is not prohibited, but mixing it with reality too much than the usual is quite frustrating. Dreams can actually happen, if we work on it well.

Dreams are a part of reality, for dreaming is a chance we get to have sometimes when we close our eyes and decide to sleep.

Dreams are true, only when we close our eyes… and sleep.
Sleeping is a reality, and so is dreaming.
