LOVE AND FRIENDSHIP
Scared and Scarred.
Aubrey Bahala

I went
Deaf and
Numb and
Cynical and
Bruised from
All of your
Actions and
Weird treatments.

This time,
I’m letting people
Go.
I’d let myself
Sleep just so
I couldn’t feel the
Knives of deceit
Stabbing me everytime.

I thought I could
Save you.
I thought I could
Do that
With eyes smiling.

I won’t save
Myself
This time.

I’d fall
And cry.
Night time’s
My only
Security.

They
Won’t hear
Me
Sobbing.

Silence.
I’ll grow
Up
And down.
I’ll live
Away from you.

Sorry.
I can’t be
Strong as you.

I’m breaking.
I’m ruined
By you and
By them.

I trusted a few
But
Several knew
Who I was.

But no one
Knows
Me best.

They speak
Of words that
Can kill.

Insensitivities
And
Insecurities.

I
Trust
Rarely.

Why
Did
They
Leave
Me?

I
Could
Love
A friend
Forever.

Or maybe
Longer
Than that.
